Philosophy
Machapresso started with a simple belief: matcha deserves to be taken seriously. Not as a trend, but as a craft with centuries of history behind it.
We built direct relationships with growers in Japan to bring ceremonial-grade matcha, the highest standard there is, straight from the source to our stores. We believe matcha can be more than an alternative to coffee. It is the new standard. A smoother lift, a calmer focus, and a healthier way to start your day. Every cup we serve is made fresh, made with intention, and made to last.

Our Craft
Our matcha craft is inspired by the land of green tea, where centuries of tradition and mastery shape every cup. We honor this heritage by carefully preparing each drink with balance, quality, and intention.
Farmers Profile

Shizuoka
Origin & Craft
Sourced from Shizuoka, near Mount Fuji — one of Japan's most respected tea regions. Mineral-rich water, fertile soil, and mountain mist create ideal growing conditions. We use only first-harvest leaves, hand-picked at peak flavor, then stone-milled the traditional way for a smooth texture, bright color, and rich umami in every cup.

Obubu
Philosophy & Sustainability
At Obubu, the whole team shares in caring for the garden — tending, harvesting, and processing the leaves together. Their Blue Forest Tea Garden follows a regenerative approach, returning pruned leaves back into the soil to naturally enrich it. This supports the land and preserves the tea's quality — a thoughtful, sustainable take on Japanese tea cultivation.

Uji
Selection & Blending
In Uji, the historic heart of Japanese tea, craftsmanship runs deep. Generations of knowledge go into selecting the finest leaves, shaded for over 20 days before harvest to bring out sweetness, color, and umami. Each batch is carefully evaluated and blended for balance in flavor, aroma, and appearance — resulting in a refined, elegant tea.
For over 700 years, Shizuoka Prefecture has been Japan’s most celebrated tea region, blessed with the high-quality water and fertile soil of Mount Fuji.
At Machapresso, we honor this legacy by sourcing first-harvest leaves, carefully hand-picked and stone-milled into vibrant, smooth, and umami-rich matcha.
Dedicated to the Craft of Matcha

One of our esteemed partners is a family-run tea producer founded in 1868. For over 150 years, they've set the standard for excellence, winning the World Tea Contest's Grand Gold Award and the International Tea Competition's Gold Award.
Today, the sixth-generation tea master is one of only 28 certified Level 10 Japanese Tea Masters (茶師十段). Their tea is served in Japan's luxury department stores and first-class airline cabins. Through this partnership, Machapresso brings that heritage to every cup.
Shizuoka, Kagoshima
We source our matcha from a historic tea house founded in 1895 in Uji, the birthplace of Japanese tea. For over a century, they've upheld a tradition of uncompromising craftsmanship, passed down through generations.
Through this partnership, we bring authentic Japanese matcha straight from its origin to your cup.
Uji, Kyoto
